InfoQ.com is an independent online community focused on change and innovation in enterprise software development, targeted primarily at the technical architect, technical team lead (senior developer), and project manager. The site, produced by C4Media, launched in June 2006 and had 90,000 unique visitors in Jan 2007.

C4Media is a Canadian corporation with Romanian roots with CEO Floyd Marinescu and Chief Architect Alexandru Popescu of Romanian background & the site development happening out of Romania with most of the team currently living in Sibiu. We are looking for an experienced Java developer, living in SIBIU with strong linux sysadmin skills to join the team.

The role has two aspects to it:

Developer - 80% of the role
- Participate in iterative development cycles at C4Media designing and implementing technical infrastructure for C4Media
- preferred experience in a couple of the following technologies:
JCR, Hibernate, web frameworks, indexing/searching (Lucene)
- minumum 3 years server side Java experience

IT Manager/Systems Administration - 20% of the role
- Install, configure and maintain any Linux-based software assets (Apache, Tomcat, MySQL)
- Troubleshoot and restore IT systems in cases of failure
- Be primary technical contact and interface to C4Media ISP/Hosting provider
